I bought this pack because I wanted a lighter more efficient pack for ski touring. This is it! I can fit all the stuff I normally carry in a 45L pack, but it is half the weight and half the bulk, and I still have room for more stuff. It's not the burliest of packs, but that is a sacrifice for lightweight materials. I've used it for half a season so far and am very happy with it. I would have given it a 5 star rating but feel that the lightweight materials may not last as long as heavier materials. I really like the compartments for shovel and probe. The top pockets can store quite a large amount of small gear. The diagonal ski carrying system works, but I prefer a side carrying system. Straps are a bit narrow and buckles a little small, but again... lightweight. You can cinch the pack to make it even smaller, it also works great as a travelling carry-on. I would recommend this pack, and may even purchase another for future use!

This bag is light and well made but it has a few issues that limit its desirability.

If you are planning on using this as a general purpose alpine day pack I would say go for it as it is well designed and built for this.

If you are using this for ski touring and actually want to strap your skis to it I might think twice. The problem is the diagonal carry strap is not connected to much (on some packs it is internally connected to the frame or straps) and isn't very useful unless the pack is stuffed full to keep its shape. The shovel and probe pocket is easy to access, which is good, but it is covered by a thin mesh that doesn't take long to wear out when the skis and shovel rub against each other as you walk.

As far as the fit goes the straps are comfortable for a lightweight pack but it will fit shorter torso people better.
    • Cons: Short Torso Length, Wears Out Quickly
    • Pros: Attractive Design, Lightweight
