I used this for full-size curtains covering the sliding doors to my deck. Easy to install with sturdy mounting hardware included. Classy looking and sturdy. Outstanding value—most curtain rods in stores at this pice point are junk compared to this.

This rod looked pretty cheap when I opened the package. It was very inexpensive, so I guess I should have expected it would not be the best quality. But I was especially disappointed that it had been opened previously, and it looked like some one had difficulty putting it together, because it was scratched near where the rods connected together. I did not even attempt to put it together myself, as it seemed the parts would not easily fit together, there were no directions, and it was scratched in a visible place. The box it arrived in was also pretty beat up (as if it had been shipped and returned several times) and required a lot of tape to protect it before shipping it back. I am usually very satisfied with the quality of merchandise from Sierra, so I guess I can live with an occasional disappointment.

I have not mounted these yet and so am not able to see how they hold up. I do have other rods of this type... in the hardware these are no different. Certainly the design could be improved on these things to make mounting easier and the whole thing more stable with or without mounting into studs. But as I say, this rod set is just par for the course,... as far as I know they all have this design, the two screw holes, one that can adjust, the plastic thingies to screw into if there is no stud, and then the pathetically short and strippable Mickey Mouse quality screws. I really wish there had been one with a simple ball finial, and smaller, but, had to take what was available... the others were worse, arrows fleur de lis and other ick. The price was right, the color tolerable. I ordered the "bronze", and that is an accurate description of what arrived, although maybe they could have toned it down a bit with the phony striations/"grain"? in the metal color. If you look closely at the illustration here, the left part of the rod, you can see what I mean.
