Victorinox Barshay Vest - Waterproof Insulated (For Men)

Over emphasized on collar and shoulder; stiffness on shoulder, exaggerated on collar height; poor fit for narrow shoulder. An inch too long for vest; not recommended for short person, e.g., 5' 7" or below. However, the quality is outstanding inside & out. Value is questionable above[$] Style or not is strictly "to each his own". This vest suits average to tall person with thin chest but medium/large shoulder. If you do not possess these characteristics -- PLEASE DO NOT BUY!

I wear insulated vests when the Midwestern winter is above 30 degrees, usually over some heavy sweatshirt or wind jacket. This vest fits that role quite well in terms of warmth and weatherproofness. In terms of form and function, this vest is more for the fashionista than the practical. While the pockets are well located and nice-sized, the snap buttons on the bellows pockets and internal pockets are too dainty for efficient use. The gray wool, black panels and red quilt interior lining are very attractive. The collar is very high on the back of the neck - great for warmth outside but a bit uncomfortable in the auto. I find the length of the vest to be ideal - not too short like "technical" vests and not too long as to hinder movement or pant pocket access.

I wear this vest every day (it's winter). The only drawback is that due to being black wool, it catches lint, but that's a problem with any black wool product. Very warm, fun to wear, made with great quality. The little red strobe-light/illuminating light in the pocket is an added bonus.

Great outer layer in cool winter weather. Useful pockets, attractive design, and great build.
