Victorinox Standard Traveler Overnighter Bag

This suitcase is referred to as an "overnighter"; however, it could easily be used for a 2-3 week trip with careful packing. I preferred a case with rigid sides to help contain the contents when the suitcase was open. Otherwise, it appeared to be very functional and high quality.

Perfect for weekend use, but roomy enough for longer trips. Great for eco-travel where you can pull it sometimes and carry it on your back other times. Great value for the price; could not find cheaper anyplace. Caution for airline use: may exceed size limits for some.

This is a really nice piece of luggage that seems to be very durable. But, as a reviewer stated earlier, the size is a bit larger than I had expected. It is a great bag for longer trips or as a weekend bag for two, since it can be unzipped to be re-configured to provide even more room. In fact, for a three-day trip (by car) it worked perfectly as the main piece of luggage for my wife, two-year old a daughter, and me. However, I had hoped to use this bag for double-duty on business trips as a carry-on and there is no way that it will fit in an overhead bin or in under seat storage. BTW, it does have straps so that it can be carried as a backpack but I think that it is best to think of this as a roll-away that can be carried as a backpack in times of absolute need - like running to catch a flight. And the roundish top makes it less than ideal for trying to balance another piece of luggage on top of it while pulling it. Still, for the price and quality this is a terrific purchase for someone looking for a 26" all-purpose bag. I do not regret this purchase and would buy it again.

Excellent value, size and lightness. I am a backpacker whose family all vacation with rolling bags while I have stuck with my pack. I thought I'd give rolling a try. This bag is larger than I usually carry and as light as my pack. Quality is very good. I may be reserving my pack for the back country.
