4.0 out of 5 stars. well made bootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by mike from seattle on Tuesday, May 6, 2014These are very well made boots. I ordered these as a man and hoped that they would fit me, but they were a little too narrow in the forefoot, and loose in the heel/ankle. I normally wear a men US 8, and I ordered these in a UK 7.5. I liked the Dakota much better in terms of fit, but they did not have my size.
The Dakota in a UK 7.5 was just a little too small for me. -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Quality workmanship; but not my size!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from New Mexico on Monday, April 21, 2014I really wanted this boot to work. STP did not have my size so I took a chance and ordered the size 6 (US 8.5) which is 1/2 size larger than my usual. I hoped that with heavy hiking socks or possibly insoles (???), but they were way too wide in the heel and too big overall. They felt more like men's sizing than women's to me. I also ordered the Hanwag Banks in my size and while the length was good, the forefoot width was a bit narrow which is way different than this model of Hanwag's. The supple leather lining is a rare thing in hiking boots these days and they are NOT made in China!

5.0 out of 5 stars. Outstanding boots!Reviewed by Anonymous from TN on Wednesday, January 29, 2014Great boots! These are very comfortable and seem to fit true to size. I usually order a half size up in waterproof boots and did in these and they fit fine (make sure to pay attention to the Euro size conversion). The tongue design looks a bit odd at first glance but will most likely prevent the boot from rubbing under the lacings. They are also very sleek boots and not bulky or big - actually make your foot look small! These seem to be typical Hanwags - high quality, great looking. I'm a big fan of this company now and own two different pair - will look for more. Haven't tried these boots out yet on trail but will look forward to doing so.

4.0 out of 5 stars. more than I needReviewed by hm from sussex county,nj on Monday, September 16, 2013I've been wanting a pair of leather hiking boots because I have heard how much more comfortable they are than the ones made out of man made materials. After wearing them around the house I found them to be really stiff, the kind of stiff you would need for true outdoor adventuring where foot and ankle stability is crucial. Also they would need a good deal of breaking in. They are more than I need, for sure. I say this comparing them to a pair of Asolo's I have had for a few years now which are the same height and also took some time to break in. One thing I didn't notice when I ordered these is that the tongue of the shoe is an extension of the upper and wraps around the front of your shin. They call it a one piece tongue. It gives me a strange feeling across the front of my shin because it pulls the upper differently than the usual set up. Not sure that I like that. I wear a size 8 and ordered an 8 because they run big. I have more than enough room for heavy socks without having any pressure points, which is a huge plus. Hesitating to send them back because I got them for a super great price that can't be matched.

4.0 out of 5 stars. These boots were true to size but my narrow heel slipped up and down no matter how tightly I laced them. Regretfully, I returned them.Reviewed by Anonymous from Montana on Saturday, September 14, 2013No fault with the construction..warm and comfortable

4.0 out of 5 stars. Very very well made bootReviewed by mountainmomma from Middletown, Maryland on Sunday, August 25, 2013I usually wear a size 7.5 wide, but since I buy most shoes from here, I find that size 8 does very well in everything I've bought.
I however ordered an 8 in these and the were too big. I couldn't believe it! Just right in the heel, but huge in the toe box.
I love the boot, so I sent the 8's back and now have 7.5.
I wore them around the house and the seem perfect. I haven't tried them with a thicker sock yet, or
worn them hiking. That's why I only gave 4 stars.
We are heading back to Glacier next month, and then out west. I will let you know how well they worked out.
I like my shoes to fit like a glove, so they seem like part of my foot. No slipping or too tight.
So far, so good but the real test will be Glacier.
Thank you Sierra. My husband wanted a pair, but you don't carry Hanwag in 13 4E :o(

4.0 out of 5 stars. Well built bootVerified Buyer Reviewed by Cap10 from Logan, Utah on Thursday, September 6, 2012I have had these boots for under a month now, and I already love them. For some they maybe a bit too stiff for comfort, but I found that to be a plus when you are hiking up and down skree slopes. These boots are also great for serious hiking because they are specially designed to keep the rocks out.
