No, I would not recommend this to a friend

These suits are cut very strangely. I am a "perfect" 32 waist and the waist does, in fact, fit fine. The rest of the suit, however, is like a tent!!! Each of the legs could fit 2 of me (and I have pretty large legs!). This would require significant alterations for me to be able to wear it without having it look like it should be worn by someone far larger. I have reordered in small.
