Although you can certainly fish from the bank, a pair of waders will give you a lot more casting freedom, especially in areas with thicker vegetation or rocky terrain. When it comes to choosing a pair, first consider the depth you’ll be wading in most often. Fishing waders can be divided into three main categories: chest waders (the highest and most versatile), waist-high waders (for water that reaches no higher than mid-thigh level) and hip waders (for water that reaches no higher than knee-level).
