    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    I would be very surprised if this produces 500,000 candlepower. It is less bright than the worklight that came with my Milwaukee Drill kit. This is basically a rechargeable flashlight with a pistol grip. Probably not worth the money. It is fine for that as long as you are not expecting to shine a powerful beam across a big space.
