Reviewed by Deb, middle aged from NYC on Monday, January 27, 2014I bought this for winter hiking to be sure to have enough room for extra clothing/sleeping bag, crampons, tying on snow shoes, etc. Mostly it works for doing that give the money I paid for it. The water bottle pockets are not really deep enough and so I put water in the pack so it wouldn't fall out (but that is necessary on a winter hike anyway). The frame, while holding the pack away from your back, which is good for ventilation, also sticks into the main compartment in an awkward way making the compartment awkward to pack. However, there is a zipper on one side which makes access easier. I don't have any other internal frame packs, so maybe this is how they work?
I found it difficult to get this pack to fit me, but once I did it has been comfortable. It is lightweight and the rain cover is a nice touch.
Reviewed by Xavier from Australia on Thursday, October 10, 2013Used this bag for a 2 month trip across 4 countries, and I did 4-7 day wilderness treks most of the time in all these environments - Morocco, Egypt, Indonesia and Malaysia. This bag is excellent - it went through a ridiculous number of weather conditions - snowstorms, monsoon rain, sandstorms and took a beating through the jungle, and came out in incredibly good condition.
This bag is perfectly sized for short skirmish trips. The best feature about it is the multiple adjustment options you can have so it perfectly fits you.
Definitely a happy customer.
Reviewed by Holly the backpacker from Australia on Tuesday, August 13, 2013I ordered this pack in order to backpack around Europe for five weeks, and it has been the best pack I could have ever bought. I love this thing! It has so many pockets and pouches to put my things safely in , and accessible to grab things out conveniently! I am very happy with this purchase.
Question & Answer
It is a unisex backpack.
“I am confused, the pack title says 40L, but the specs say much smaller...I think it was 2800 CI.|What is its size?”
Both are correct Wenger calls this a 40L backpack, however their specs indicate the actual capacity at only 2550 cubic inches which is correct.
The specs say 2550 CI... that equals just over 41 liters.
