I bought this for winter hiking to be sure to have enough room for extra clothing/sleeping bag, crampons, tying on snow shoes, etc. Mostly it works for doing that give the money I paid for it. The water bottle pockets are not really deep enough and so I put water in the pack so it wouldn't fall out (but that is necessary on a winter hike anyway). The frame, while holding the pack away from your back, which is good for ventilation, also sticks into the main compartment in an awkward way making the compartment awkward to pack. However, there is a zipper on one side which makes access easier. I don't have any other internal frame packs, so maybe this is how they work?
I found it difficult to get this pack to fit me, but once I did it has been comfortable. It is lightweight and the rain cover is a nice touch.
