    Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
    I thought I was getting a nicely insulated boot - either quilted or 'sorel-style' insulation. In looking back at the description, it is vague about what insulation they have. What they turned out to be is a very thinly insulated shell. I hope the 'thinsulate' is warmer than it looks/feels. I will likely have to wear them with multiple pairs of socks. I will recommend these because they look nice and functional and have some good qualities - waterproof, nice sole, decent upper, good laces - but if you are looking for a nice thickly insulated winter boot, this may not be it.

    I used these for snowshoeing and for snowmobiling. For both uses I liked them better than Sorel's. They fit nicely with a couple pair of socks and are comfortable for hiking.
