At nearly 9" open this is a whopper, much larger than most Swiss Army Knives. Most Swiss Army Knives have smooth plastic handles that can be slippery - this knife has a textured surface for better grip. Quality is typical for Wenger, very good. I'd give it five stars if there was a plain edge version and had a lockback instead of liner lock.
I would recommend this knife to someone who was interested in a Swiss Army Knife, but who was not interested in the extra tools often included.

I had another double bladed wenger almost exactly like this that was much higher quality.
This knife is very difficult to close and the steel is slightly lower quality. It still seems to hold a good edge for contruction use.

I do not think this is a heavy duty hunting type of knife, good blade length, partially serrated makes blade multi-functional, kinda cheesy on the lock latch being plastic scares me as to longevity especially if put under severe stress, don't, would be my advice. Good for an extra knife at camp for cutting jerky, meals, cheese and such, handy for carrying in field on nature ventures for scraping, a little bit of starter carving, cutting samples of vegetation etc.

I own 2 other Wenger lock blades which open/close well. The blade release on this new one was defective, so I returned it immediately. I have to wonder if this is why the price was so low...

This really is the perfect knife for the price. The steel in the blade is the same swiss stainless that has been around forever. Very durable and easy to sharpen. Perfect geometry in the blade design. Light enough to carry in a pair of jeans and sturdy in feel and action. The blade may seem stiff at first, but once it works in and you will be pleased with the walk and talk. On top of everything about this knife you get to purchase from such an excellent retailer as Sierra Trading Post. How can you do better?

I like the combo blade for rope, etc. reminds me of a 21st century Sodbuster. Strong pockets recommended. Not a Jr. Closing requires a good strong thumb grip on the grippy-pad lock release.
