Closeouts. Seamlessly constructed like a sock -- but much, much more rugged -- Wenger's Interlaken trail shoes feature four-way stretch mesh that's super breathable, lightweight and sleek.

Only complaint is that the toe box feels a little strange - top of my big toe touches something hard. Very nice looking shoe but probably best suited to dryer weather.

I'm a sz 6, and these felt like a 6-1/2 on me. They have mesh material so they'd be best as spring or fall trail shoes. They're comfortable, cute and have a good tread. I'd buy them again, especially in view of the great price, but the fit was a bit loose.

The front tab (helper to put shoe on)broke off on first try- same experience as a previous review. I sew it back on and kept the shoe. If you could overlook the defect (not crucial to performance), it's a good shoe for the price. I wore it on a 5 mile walk in Marin with happy feet after. I thought it rather fashionable for the girly hiker that I am.

You can wear these either way. They are comfortable without socks for most people but shoes wear differently on every individual.

Hi there, I wear mine with socks. But, you can wear them without. I can't see any obvious place where chafing would take place but that depends on each person's foot. Either way would work.
