I wanted a light weight hiking boot that I could wear to the office. So far the Wenger Jackson Hiking Boots have met my needs. I also plan on using the boots for camping.

Verified Buyer Reviewed by ScottM from Southern Oregon on Friday, January 18, 2013I picked these up because they looked liked they'd fit my need (around town, light day hiking in winter). I got them and tried them for a day, but the fit was very strange. They weren't too big or too small, but they pushed my toes forward uncomfortably and felt a little tight around the top of my foot.
It's possible a size bigger would have relieved these problems, but I don't think so. There is something in the design that just doesn't match my foot.
I returned these and got some Merrel Ridgelines instead and am much happier, even though the Merrel's are twice the price.

Answer They are not insulated, they are waterproof. The shoes could be worn in the snow with proper layers of insulating socks and gaiters. They would not be the best choice in extreme cold and snow.
