Reviewed by Tina from Iowa on Sunday, August 4, 2013We bought two of these backpacks for our boys because they are light weight and are adjustable to fit their torsos. There are quite a pockets and secret compartments for the boys to store all sorts of gidgets and gadgets - which they thought was super cool. I like everything about the pack but it has a little too much padding on the shoulder straps, and it is a dense foam. If it softens up after using them it should be fine. We will be testing them out on an upcoming trip to Yosemite and Kings Canyon. That will be the real field test.
Reviewed by Todd from Wisconsin on Saturday, July 20, 2013This daypack has it all, its small, has hydration and has good waist straps.
Answer The pack has an internal frame and can not be folded.
Question “I know the specs say "hiking or overnight" use but I am a 5' 6" female looking for a lightweight pack that I can make an emergency go bag out of. Could I realistically get 2-3 days of very basic supplies in here? The clearance price is great and makes me want to try...it looks quite big...making me think I could definitely do it. But pictures can be deceiving. ”
Answer I just looked at the backpacking guide. I wouldn't think that you could get more than just a days worth of stuff in it. 20 liters isnt much when you look at the guide. Have a look. It should answer you questions.
Answer The pack is hydration compatible. It does not include the hydration bladder. You may have to check with the TSA to whether a hydration bladder is allow on an aircraft.
Answer Empty hydration bladders are not a problem for TSA security. Only inconvenience I've ever had with a backpack was when the residue from campfires tripped a chemical test.
