Average Wenonah Review (based on 2 reviews)
Reviewed by Linda from Cape Cod, MA on Wednesday, September 25, 2013This canoe bobs in the water like a cork, and has decent initial stability, which is good when you've got a couple 4-year olds in your boat. We haven't really tested final stability yet, but it seeems like it's pretty good. It's easy to paddle and manage, and we think it will be an excellent canoe for our boys to learn on. The drawback is that STP doesn't seem to have a good process for shipping these things. The first canoe arrived badly damaged and we had to send it back (we might have kept it and just repaired it, but the gunwale was bent). The second one arrived slightly damaged - the outer skin was abraded in a couple places and will need to be repaired, but we decided to keep it anyway.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by adventure eye from rochester, ny on Friday, April 15, 2011this canoe is a great design. it turns on a dime and handles well...is extremely stable. It is not a beginner canoe, however, because it IS susceptible to wind and requires a practiced j stroke to keep in line. It is great for paddling tandem or solo...but it could use some adjustments to the layout of the seats...the stern is too tight (it gives great control...but should be 2 inches forward).
