These boiled wool Wesenjak slipper slides are very popular in Europe. They are comfortable and warm. They are made of dense and durable boiled wool with have colorful accent trims. You have to use the European sizes. Size 10 US equals size 44 European. These are great just to have around!! Especial... Read More

You can't beat these boiled wool slippers. They are soft and are great to pack for a trip as they don't take much room. Really for indoor use only, as the sole is wool coated with a rubbery agent to make it non-slippery. I wouldn't want to get them dirty outside--they can't be washed. Spot clean, yes, but you can't throw in the washer. This is my 4th pair over the years. I literally wear out these slippers! True to EU sizing. Size 8 is 39, and that is what I got. They fit perfectly.

I like the style of scuff! But the wool is bubbly in the upper and the edging is tighter, so just kinda weird. Fitting is true to size.

My narrow foot slides around in these. These are a scuff, with no sole at all. Color is so cute.

There is nothing quite like boiled wool slippers for warmth especially during the winter months which can last a long time in Michigan. These are quality slippers from Austria and I suspect will be as durable as others I have previously owned. I have hardwood floors in my home and it was important to me that my indoor slippers not have rubber soles which leave marks and imprints. I love these so much I am tempted to purchase another pair to have on hand in case STP stops carrying them in the future!

Warm, lightweight, comfortable. Easy to slip on and off. Won't scuff hardwood floors. Because of the soft fabric, they work well for wide feet.
The slippers wear out after a year or two, but I just come back and another pair.

  • Question “Can these slippers be washed?”

Asked on 5/25/2014 8:47:22 AM by loves comfort from oregon
    • Answer I wash them - cold, gentle wash and air dry. It seems to make them return to the original size, not stretched out. Works for me.
Answered on 5/25/2014 9:13:56 AM by Marika's Gramma from SF BAy Area CA
    • Answer I have washed them by hand using wool safe soap with lanolin. They take a while to dry. Do not put them in the washer. I tried that once and it didn't work out.

    • Answer I don't know. The tag doesn't say..at least I don't know what the four symbols it has mean. They are all wool, with the sole being very thick(1/2 ") I guess I would try it in cold water and then hang them to dry (for a few days) so that the sole would dry though.
      Sorry I can't help more.
Answered on 5/25/2014 10:33:35 AM by Jody from Lodi from WI
    • Answer The tags don't give any washing instructions. They simply say that they are 100% wool. I think of wool as being something you dry clean, but maybe wool can be washed on a special cycle. Anyway- I highly recommend these slippers! And do order a size up.

    • Answer I would not!

    • Answer I have not yet tried but when I do, I will hand wash them and let them air dry. They are very well made and cannot see how they would shrink unless you put them in a heated dryer. I absolutely love them, wish I had bought 2 pair!

    • Answer Yes! They wash very well. I don't put them in the dryer, although I imagine you could.

    • Answer I haven't washed mine yet, but would hand wash using woolite or some baby detergent and dry outside. I think you could also use so e kind of shampoo made for upholstered furniture. Hope this helps. I love these slippers.

    • Answer No. The bottoms get kind of "gunky" and sticky. Spot wash is fine though. They don't harbor smells, and because they are wool, ventilate naturally.

  • Question “I want to buy size 9 slippers.........what euro size should I buy?”

    • Answer If you hover over the "Sizes Available" with your mouse, a tap will appear and provide you with the correct numeric sizing. 41 (US: M Size 9, F 10) or 40 (US: M Size 8, F 9) should work for you depending on your sex. Have a great day

    • Answer There are size conversion charts on the website. It matters whether you are talking men's or women's size 9. These slippers seem to run true to size, but they slip off (my feet) easily, unless I have on socks. Hope that helps....

    • Answer No padding at all. And I felt like they would slide out from under me. I would not recommend them. For my 88-year-old mother-in-law I have gotten Acorn slippers with velcro straps (good for swollen feet) and teva-like sandals for summer. They have a rubber sole, but she loves them.

    • Answer These really are very comfortable and loose around the foot. very roomy and no constricting elastic. they are a very 'soft' slipper. true to how one imagines a slipper, not a lot of structure. the bottoms are the same boiled wool as the rest of the construction. they slide nicely, but at the same time don't feel un-secure on a wood floor. hope this helps. i am really happy with these slippers.

    • Answer These are slides with no elastic, but they stretch well with wear; they seem to mold to the foot. Also, they definitely would help in the scooting capacity. The sole is about 5/8 inch, so it is padded without being bulky. I love mine so well that I ordered another pair.

    • Answer The slipper bed is lightly cushioned (think four layers of a wool blanket, stacked). The slippers can be extremely slippery, depending on the flooring. They are fine on my commercial grade carpeting, but rather slippery on the laminate. I would not buy them for my 80-something-year-old grandmother because of the lack of cushioning, lack of arch support, and slipping hazard. The elastic is not constricting at all on my foot (not like the "ballet"-style slippers from I*toner).

    • Answer They are nicely padded, and the elastic is not tight or restrictive.
Answered on 1/12/2011 12:00:00 AM by Steve from Snowy Buffalo, NY!
    • Answer The padding on the bottom of the slipper is adequate. Too much might make it (and her) wobbly. I did not find the elastic too tight at all barefooted or with medium heavy wool sox.
