The sizing is funny, I am a 42, and I wear 8.5 womens and he wears the 46, he wears a mens 12. These can be washed with a wool wash bar to keep them clean. Do not wait too long to wash them. They are not itchy and are very soft. There is a bit of padding in the heel area, just enough for slippers that are used on a hard wood floor.

They are probably true to size and my pair is too loose and fall off easily. Great slippers, but order your normal size. The sole is felted wool with a little bit of gummy texture to it for gripping - it is not an indoor/outdoor type of sole.

I ordered in my size 42 and then one size bigger 43 but when the two pairs came they were both the same size 43. Shoots. THEY FELT SMALL even though the 43 was a size bigger for me. I stuck it out though because they were comfortable and warm and am happy I did. I'm even keeping both pairs - so that I have another pair if/when the first ones wear out. They're great for just kicking around the house and take the edge off of the cold winter chill. I like having slip-ons for convenience.

These slippers have no arch support and a felt sole, so if you want warm bare feet, these are for you. I usually wear a 39, but since that size was unavailable, I ordered a 40 and they fit well. Most likely either size would have worked. BTW, my 9-year old tried them on and decided she wanted a pair. Hers are on the way.

At first I thought they fit great, but after wearing them a bit they have stretched out a bit. I still don't know that I could go any smaller as the length is still just right but front of the slipper is too loose without having socks on that I have to pay attention to keep them on my feet. They are still quite comfy and seem very well constructed for the price, but the tricky sizing makes them a bit hit or miss overall.

I have a pair of Birkenstocks size 37 and figured since the Birkis are a loose fit and I wanted the slippers to be a snug fit, I would order down a size. I exchanged the slippers for a size 37, I hope they fit. They are made of a very dense wool and should be long-lasting and warm.

I would like to have a little more support but the fact that they are 100% wool and that allows them to breathe is worth it. Your feet don't get sweaty.
