Black's Flies GB Rubberleg Copper Jon Nymph Flies - 12

Very affordable and cheaper than I could make myself!

These may seem like a good deal, but they are junk. Most of them started to fall apart on me after a few hours of fishing.

These seem to be well constructed flies that will survive some abuse. Looking forward to putting them to the test this spring.

My fishing guide in NZ thought these were great until I snagged a rock and the hook bent open. Then I snagged my shirt and the hook just flat broke off. The next fly had the flashback chip off after several casts. The next thing I did was to forget I even had them. Had I hooked a 4# or larger trout on one of these flies I surely would have lost it. Avoid this brand or you may be very disappointed to lose a trophy fish.

After I saw some other reviews I thought I would let others know I have purchased around 8 dozen of these from STP and have not had a problem. I have had problems with other brands from STP but not these. They seem to stay tied on the hook, they have not turned and have not broke. I have landed 5 lb.+ fish with these in a size as small as a #20. I have fished many for several days and have had no more problems than you would with any fly. All of that said I know fly manufactures will sell second quality flys to people like STP that would otherwise be rejected so it is possible to get a bad batch or some flys that may have larger problems than the color was off or something less concerning.
