Pros: The shorts kept me cool and dry on a six mile hike in 100+ degree weather. When I went to dinner afterwards in an air conditioned restaurant, the addition of the pant legs kept me warm enough. The material is very lightweight and breathes well. I was worried that the leg zippers would both... Read More

Bought these for our trip to Alaska. Love that they are light weight and convertabke. I usually wear a size 4-6. I bought a medium. Slightly large in the waist fits well in the hips. The legs are a little Baggie even for me who has athletic legs.

Nice fit, comfortable. Went trekking to the Mount Everest Base Camp in Nepal for a month. Also hiking in the back woods of Pennsylvania.

I read the reviews for these pants and noticed that many people stated that the pants ran small. I usually get a small; I checked the sizing and decided to go with a medium due to the reviews. The mediums were way too big on me--I am 5'4, 135 pounds, if that helps anyone for reference. I am now ordering a small. I hope that it fits correctly.

This has a very good fit. It is lightweight and comfortable. I used it for a whole day outing which involves walking on easy terrain. Even when worn as full pants, it kept me cool on a very warm, sunny day. It also air-dried quickly after putting it in the wash.

I normally wear a size 12 in pants (5'9", 180#), and my inseam is about a 32 (I figured with hiking boots, a 31-inch inseam would be OK). I ordered the XL to be on the safe side. I couldn't even get the pants over my thighs, but if I had, they would have been about 4 inches too short. They must have been mis-sized or something. Bummer, though, because they looked like nice pants and exactly what I wanted for hiking in the mountains.

    • Answer No hidden zippers in the leg openings. Would have to remove boots first.

    • Answer I did end up returning them and had to get something else since they did not have another size. So from what I remember of the pants, you could probably slide the bottoms off with boots, unless they are bulky with large soles. The zippers are hidden when you wear them as shorts and were easy to take on and off.

    • Answer I have not tried to take the bottoms off over boots yet, but they are nice and wide. I don't think it will be difficult. There are not zippers at the leg openings, though.
Answered on 5/26/2015 10:43:19 AM by Emily from Indiana
    • Answer Maybe - It depends on how bulky your boots are. There are no hidden zippers in the leg openings - unless they are hidden really, really well and I have not found them yet.
