I bought all of these shirts at the same time and love them all for different reasons. I also wanted to group them all in one review for comparison/ contrast information. I am a touch over 5' tall, and my dimensions correspond exactly with the xs specs for the Ex Officio line.

I bought a white one of these for backpacking two years ago, and it's held up well though of course it's got permanent stains. Like most synthetics, it's pretty hot in summer, but it does dry quickly. Then I bought blue and green ones less than a year ago, thinking they wouldn't get as badly stained. They haven't, but they're hotter in the sun due to being darker colors, so I wear them a lot less. The fabric is just not all that comfortable to me for any of them, but I bought three because I'm forcing myself to wear long sleeves for sun protection and I was too lazy to shop for something that might be more comfortable after finding a size that fit well with the first one, My real complaint is that I sewed six buttons onto the blue one yesterday after having one come off and then seeing that all the others were about to come off. And now I just finished resewing seven onto the green one, because they were all about to come off too. The buttons on the white shirt that is both a year older and has been used a lot harder are all still firmly attached. White Sierra has evidently switched to some kind of shoddy button-sewing machine and/or thread.

Nice shirt. Will be good for trekking around town and travelling, perhaps a light hike or walk, workplace. Good for sun protection either alone or as an overshirt. Not sure about using it with a backback, it may not be that substantial.

This is a nice shirt. It fits true to size, comfortably! Light weight and great price! Great for fishing, paddling or other activity in the sun!

I took a chance buying a large as I was in between sizes for the bust area (41"). There's a little gapping/pulling if you wear a padded/formed cup bra but it's not bad. Wear a cotton bra and you shouldn't have a problem. I have worn this in 80+ degree weather and high humidity in the sun. It is cool and has a silky feel. It's actually dressy looking with the princess seams and fit me very well. One note: I have long arms and usually that's an issue with sleeve length for me. With this shirt, it came up past my wrist. I bought the sail blue and a white one of these. Sail blue is beautiful color. I think these shirts will serve me well on my upcoming trip to the Amazon.

This shirt is light, cool and comfortable looking and seems quite well made. However, the white is too sheer and the bust was too small, so I'm returning. I will try it in the plus size next time and in a different color.

  • Question “What is the bust width and length of a women's Gobi shirt in size small?”
Asked on 3/23/2015 7:40:54 AM by Shelley the Hiker from Wyoming
    • Answer I am so sorry that I do not have a measuring tape. I am petite, bust size 32A. I am 5'2". The sleeves, I have to roll up the cuff 2x because they are long for a petite person, and the shirt covers my hips and my buttocks. It is not a tailored fit. It is a roomy fit. I love my shirt. Would like to buy in other colors. My shirt is size "S". I get a lot of compliments on it, although it is a spring, summer or fall shirt because in cold weather, it will repel the heat and you will feel like you are wearing a very cold to the touch fabric, and you might freeze.

  • Question “What is the back length of this shirt? from neck to bottom.”
Asked on 2/23/2015 9:02:53 AM by Linda S from Midwest
    • Answer I do not have a measuring tape. I ordered a small size. Probably because I am petite and may have needed an XS, the shirt is roomy. It covers my derriere, so it covers just a little more than the shirt modeled in the picture. You can wear it tucked in if you want. It is not a tapered shirt. It is beautiful and people have no idea that it is an expedition shirt. It does not let in the heat, so it should be worn in warmer temps. I hope this info helps!
