I bought these for our ski trip because they were a great price and had decent reviews. I couldn't fit into my black Marker ski pants I've worn for past several years and didn't want to spend a lot of money for a bigger size. ( I plan to fit back into my old ones next year.) Buying cheap pants was a big mistake! Although the price is great and they are very water proof they do not wick away moisture AT ALL! It was quite warm this Spring Break and my legs would sweat like crazy. After only 1 hour of skiing the insides of these pants would be SOAKING wet. I don't have a problem with excessive sweating when I exercise so I was really suprised by this. Obiously I am used to wearing athletic gear that wicks away moisture so the feeling iln these pants was very uncomfortable, to say the least. Even if the temperature had been much colder any exertion that elevates your heart rate would create a damp, uncomfortable environment. Great pants to sit in the snow or slowly walk, but NOT suitable for any winter sports. Pay up for real ski pants!

I was so glad I had these last week in Fairbanks. All the pockets came in very handy. They were plenty warm with just one layer underneath them.

If ski pants can be flattering I think these are. Also, they are not bulky but are very warm. I used these for downhill skiing and think maybe they'd be too warm for cross country skiing unless it was really cold.

After reading several reviews, many saying to order a size up, I then ordered a large. They were wayyyyyy to big. They were super baggy in the legs and the waist was huge. The adjustable waist would maybe have worked if it was anywhere near to the correct size for me but when I used them they created flaps that stuck out and made the butt area even more baggy and uncomfortable. If anything, I probably should have ordered a size down. I loved the look and feel of the pants when they were not on me and would have loved to return for the right size but there were only larges and XL's left.

    • Answer Yes, these run true to size. If at any time the Sierra Trading Post shoe experts determine that a shoe does not fit exactly as the manufacturer claims, they add a "size note" at the end of the irregularly sized shoe. A size note will indicate to buy a slightly larger or smaller shoe than the size you expect to normally fit you.|There is also 3 reviews none of which mention any sizing issues.

Answered on 1/5/2011 12:00:00 AM by beck from baltimore md
    • Answer I'm a size 10-12 and the large fit, but the waist was a bit tight. I've got fairly wide hips, however. If you're more on the 14 side of 12-14, I'd suggest an XL, especially if you want to wear a base layer. The Large fit me alright, but they were a bit tight over my base layer.
