This is an excellent waterproof jacket. I am a big, active guy who spends time outdoors in all sorts of weather. It has all the features I want: breathable, detachable hood, pit zips for ventilation, good pocket size and placement, snow skirt, quality zippers and seams, classic look and fit. The sleeve length is complete for my long arms, the shoulders and chest fit very well and the jacket "moves" well. My only caution would be in the waist: if you're carrying too much "storage" around your middle, the fit could be snug. The jacket is made for athletic activity, it's not a big tent.
It works very well with layering to suitable for any temperature conditions. I'm also a retired Navy guy, and this jacket would be perfectly suitable for a stormy day on the waterfront.
For looks, it has classic color and design for outdoor wear. I don't need any crazy patterns or pop-culture/hip-hop styling. I wanted a quality, functional, reliable jacket. This one does it.
Last, and most important with Sierra Trading Post, the Predator Ski Jacket was also an OUTSTANDING value. I've seen retail jackets like this for hundreds of dollars. I've seen junk-quality jackets more expensive than this. I highly recommend the White Sierra Predator ski jacket for anybody who wants a water-proof, versatile, reliable, no-nonsense jacket. I give this a solid five stars for it's value and function.
