I've been looking for replacement hiking shorts and found this one on sale. It's probably one of the best all around hiking shorts that I've ever owned. I'm 5' 11" med build @ 175lb and and a size M 9" fits perfect with plenty of room in the seat and crotch.

The White Sierra Trek shorts are a good buy. Perfect for multi use purposes. Upgrades would be to add a zipper, and obviously more color options than 2

True to size, ready to go out of wash/dry, and look great. Medium weight, quick drying.
Only wish the belt cord would have been sewn in, because at times, the clasp slips out.

Well designed shorts but.the color pictured, the brown or bark is not the color you'll receive. I got a greenish gray color. STP said that's the right color. I disagree but kept the shorts, their nice.

The pros are: Light weight, mesh pockets and underwear help it dry quickly. Zip thigh pocket on left holds cell phones. Pretty good value for the money
The cons: One or two wearing disclosed fraying of fragile material of the mesh fabrics. Not sure how durable they will be. The belt is sewn into both sides thus limiting travel of buckle. Thus, not much travel. You have to thread and re-thread with each time you take them off or go to the bathroom.

    • Answer My shorts were true to the M size. I'm a 34", but there is expansion room with the elastic waste band and the adjustable waste nylon belt. Plenty of room in the mesh swimsuit type liner.
All in all a good value.

    • Answer I ordered an extra large for my husband who wares a 36" waist. You can tighten the waist if it is too large, but I would think you would want the extra room in the trunk. Nothing worse than tight shorts!

    • Answer My husband has a 34 waist and we purchased a large for him. I don't know if that helps or not.

    • Answer The wasteband is elastic and forgiving. However, I discovered that the belt is not really a belt but an elastic band that stretches and offers little support. Works fine if pockets are empty...

    • Answer Here's the thing, I have "former powerlifter" hips, butt and thighs and a 36 in waist. The Large size fit my waist fine, but almost ripped when I'd sit down or move lateral. Hence, I sent them back and ordered XL. I almost max-out the belt, however, they stay up, are very comfy and do everything they are supposed to do. I love them, especially around the lake, pool or under my waders!
