In New Mexico, the winter weather is always changing, so this jacket is perfect regardless of the temp on any given day. It's pretty durable and easy for kids to zip/velcro themselves. Good buy.

This coat seems to handle the trip to school down to about 30-deg F. The two pieces both stand alone well. The fleece jacket that provides the insulation looks good on its own and the outer shell is a capable rain coat. We even discovered an ID pocket inside the rain shell. Overall we're happy that the small size should fit my average-sized 7 year olds for a couple of years.

Answer My 7 yr olds fit in size Small. I'd hazard a guess that you may need a Large to fit a 10 yr old.|As a guide, I expect to get 2 years out of these coats before they are outgrown.
