They needed something to keep them warm while outside feeding the animals and shoveling snow. They work great - I have not had any complaints about them. They are a great product for the price I paid!

Answer The are only water resistant, not waterproof. Water or melting snow would bead up and run off, but if exposed to constant rainfall they will eventually soak thru.
