Since I was delivered - no rain to try it out so can't say how the performance is. Looks awesome hanging in my closet just waiting to "go walkin in the rain"!

I really didn't have to have another waterproof rain jacket but I wanted a bright colored one. But as soon as I tried it on I was burning up. I think it was because it was polyester. So I returned it and am still searching for another good deal that is made of nylon.

Answer The hood is not designed to be stowed. The hook and loop attachments are for adjusting the length of the hood.
