I am going on a trip to Europe in the fall. I purchased these pants because it is the rainiest time of year in Amsterdam. They are very light weight and will pack really well. I also liked that it did not have contrasting stripe on the side of the leg, don't want to be sticking out like a soar thumb... Read More

I bought my daughter these pants for a trip to Iceland. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, and these really fit the bill. She is 5'1", 100 pounds. Women's small are too large and extra smalls are hard to find/more expensive. These kept her dry and fit well over a base and mid-layer. They also helped block the wind, are very light (easy to carry in a daypack) and dry quickly. They are little flimsy so I wouldn't recommend them for hiking where there are lots of bushes and brambles to get through.

My daughter is a pre-teen and picky about clothes already, but these rain pants are not too tight so she can bend and play, and not too baggy so she won't look geeky. Quality is very good.

I haven't worn them out yet.. but wanting to provide some feedback on fit. I'm a petite female usually size 00 or 0, and kids size 12/14. Mediums in kids normally fits me well, but these fit tightly (except they're very wide on the pant legs like always in children's fit), so if you like looser like I do..I'd go with the large.

My 11 year old son wore these for boy scout camp. They run a little big, but that leaves plenty of room for layers underneath. The snaps at the ankle are helpful to cinch them down.

  • Question “Do the pants have a drawstring waist to adjust?”
Asked on 11/8/2014 4:52:28 PM by ca from Texas
    • Answer Grace: typically i buy clothes that are a wee bit on the bigger size so that they can grow into them. Be that as it may the 6X will fit her for these pants. also would expect that she would have boots so you have some flexibility of tucking them into the boots if they are too long or rolling up the cuffs if need be. My son is a bit on the shorter side but he still is wearing the size for his age, i.e., 8.

    • Answer I would get the XS if you want them to fit her today; if you want to plan ahead a bit then get the small
the xs is listed as 4-6 and smalls are for 7-8. I believe my son is wearing the small pants as he is 8.

    • Answer Hi Grace,
All I can tell you is that my granddaughter is 9 years old, wears a size 10, and the Medium fits her fine. So in my mind, these pants seem to be "true to size." My granddaughter is taller than most kids her age, but she still wears a size 10.
      Hope this helps.

    • Answer I am really not sure what size you should order. My boys are 12 yrs old and I bought them large. They are way too big for the one twin and slightly big on the other. I am hoping to get 2 summers out of them. One twin wears a size 12 pants and they fit perfectly the other twin wears size 14 pants that are slightly long on him.
