I'm a size 4-6 and smalls are often too big for me. I ordered Medium and couldn't tolerate how tight they were on my ankles and legs. Returned them for Larges. The Larges are big in the rise and waist, but that's tolerable. The fabric is soft and lovely. I'll wear these for the next 10 years!

Best of all they are a fine price, not heavy (good for backpacking, skiing, etc.) and their made in the USA!!!!

Basically same problem...the bottoms are extremely small (have to have chicken ankles and legs for them to fit and a wide top). Also, no stretch to the fabric. Very uncomfortable. Sure wish I'd never ordered them to begin with...cost me a lot of shipping costs.

Answer Yes, they wash like a dream. I used regular cycle in the machine as well as normal cycle in the dryer and they came out just as soft as new.

Answer I measured two pairs of mine-- both about 28 inches. I am short as well as small, so this leaves a bit of extra, but I don't find it a problem.
