They are nice but a little bulkier than expected. They are looser fitting. I use it as a top layer rather than mid. Its very warm and great quality. I use it for hunting and cold weather activities.

These worked very well in the cool weather we have. I get a better ideal come this fall and winter when I go fishing. Wife like them. Worn them with the microfleece pants shopping.

I got this for a friend who works outdoors in Chicago and he says these are super warm. He notes they are way too warm for anything less than sub-Arctic temperatures, but discovered they are perfect for warmer temperatures if he wears them inside out.

This is the first i have heard of these. I bought them because I work outside even in the coldest weather. Most other brands are not that great. These keep me warm when i need to be warm. Even if a strong cold wind blows.

  • Question “I am confused about the fabric. Is the shirt sold currently made with the fabric that has a "square ribbed" texture inside or a smooth texture. The website photographs (of the different colors) appear to show both and answers to questions already answered are not clear to me. ”
Asked on 3/6/2013 7:13:41 AM by Pable from South Carolina
    • Answer Actually both, the color sand has the textured fabric and the color tan is smooth fabric.

  • Question “The shirt label once I got it says that it has 61% Rayon?? Nowhere in the description on your site it mentions Rayon? All I need to know is if it will be able to wick away moisture as good as poly. I am planning to use it under drysuit and is important that this material performs as advertized and wicks away moisture and sweat. Please clarify.”
Asked on 12/14/2011 12:00:00 AM by ivog from Seattle
    • Answer The Long Underwear Shirt will perform as advertised

  • Question “Does anyone know the exact percentage of comfortrel polyester in this shirt? It is not specified in the description. The midweight shirt specifies 92% poly and 8%spandex. A reviewer for the expedition weight bottoms stated that the pants were a combination of poly and rayon but mostly rayon.”
Asked on 12/10/2011 12:00:00 AM by Ft Washington, PA from Unknown
    • Answer The shirt has at least 51% polyester in it.

  • Question “The first two photos depicted in the photos (tan, brown) look strikingly different from the others in terms of fabric (i.e., texture) and cut. Does that reflect a genuine difference or is it a photographical artifact?”
Asked on 2/4/2010 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer You have a keen eye, the materials are a different texture. One is a smooth fabric and the other is more of a square ribbed texture, they are the same fabric and weight. That is why they are seconds was because they used two methods of production.
Answered on 2/4/2010 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer no difference in material

  • Question “What is difference between midweight and expedition weight for wickers long underwear?”
Asked on 12/6/2009 12:00:00 AM by Cal mom from Unknown
    • Answer Wickers midweight fabric is the ideal choice for stop-and-go activities such as skiing, hiking and cycling in cool to cold temperatures. This unique 4-way stretch fabric gives you maximum flexibility without sacrificing performance. And while it looks and feels luxurious, it also wicks away sweat to keep you dry and comfortable.||Wickers expedition weight was designed for low-energy activities in extremely cold conditions. Fleecy-soft inside, smooth outside, this fabric makes layering easy and comfortable and provides maximum warmth with minimum weight. No matter how much you move, count on this fabric to stretch and recover its shape.
Answered on 12/8/2009 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer Not much! I've noticed that with the new style fabric. It looks like a ribbed square pattern. The smooth fabric that was sold a couple of years ago was a lot thicker in the expedition weight.

  • Question “Is this item machine wash and dry?”

    • Answer Yes, but dry on low heat. I'm a female w/ long arms and mine was perfect length but made the mistake of throwing it in the dryer w/ other clothes on high heat. Now the sleeves are a wee bit too short, and the forearms are a bit tight.
