    • Answer Wickers midweight fabric is the ideal choice for stop-and-go activities such as skiing, hiking and cycling in cool to cold temperatures. This unique 4-way stretch fabric gives you maximum flexibility without sacrificing performance. And while it looks and feels luxurious, it also wicks away sweat to keep you dry and comfortable.||Wickers expedition weight was designed for low-energy activities in extremely cold conditions. Fleecy-soft inside, smooth outside, this fabric makes layering easy and comfortable and provides maximum warmth with minimum weight. No matter how much you move, count on this fabric to stretch and recover its shape.|Midweight is more appropriate for activites like skiing, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing, provided you are going to be actively participating. The key to staying warm is not becoming so warm that you sweat. If the thermals you choose cause sweating you will become extremely cold once you stop the activity because of the sweat on your body and moisture in the material. Ensure that you choose a thermal that has excellent ability to wick any moisture away from the body. Also make sure that you know and understand the concepts of layering. If you or your children feel that you are becoming to warm in the activity, unzip pant sides, coat front, etc to allow more air. Shed a layer if necessary. • Answer I never put them in the dryer (they dry quickly enough just being hung on a hanger). They retain their shape well & don't shrink with "just washing."

    • Answer i don't dry this sort of material, so i wouldn't say that's even an issue. i'd hang dry and then tumble on "air" setting with bounce if you need to.

    • Answer Lightweight is usually very thin. Midweight is thin. Expedition weight is moderately thick. All are appropriate for skiing in Lake Tahoe. First of all, you need to layer, not wear just one thing. Next, it depends on time of year. You can ski at Tahoe in June, when it's 60 degrees outside, or in winter, when it might be 20 degrees or less and windy. Finally, how much clothing you need depends on your physical condition -- the better your physical condition, the less thick clothing you are going to want, or you will overheat.||Finally, when you buy from STP, expect wide variations in the thickness, quality, fit, and hand depending on which color or size you buy, and sometimes even within the same color and size.
