I first bought 2 of these shirts for an expedition in Antarctica. They worked so well, I just bought 2 more. I find the material helps retain body heat, unlike some of the other smoother materials. I also like the colors.

These tops seem more like light weight material to me. The photo seems to show the cut being somewhat relaxed but they're anything but! They are cut so slim that even a medium was too tight for my aging albeit athletic body and I normally wear a small. If you want a tight-fitting light weight top I'm sure they'd be fine but the description is deceiving. I sent mine back.

You think I'd learn.... These are great base layers. We have used them for years with great success. HOWEVER - the tops always seem to run small. I am an 8, and the M arms are always too tight and too short. The large tends to be a little big, but they are comfy. So I have trouble getting these to fit like a true base layer - hugging the body. But they wick well, launder well, and are an awesome deal!

Bought these for the two women in my life and both are enjoying them. I will probably buy a couple more in different colors. They report that the fabric is warm and comfortable and they like the colors.
These do run small, I generally wear a M but a L fit comfortably.

You'll find that the body of the shirt fits fine in a medium. It won't be tight, but will sit nicely. But you'll find the sleeves too short if you want them to be touching your wrists, especially when your arms are extended. I'm 5'4" and even with my hands by my sides the sleeves only just about reach my wrists.
