I have not used this yet, but it looks to be of good quality and seems like it will be durable. This pack has a bit more room than a chest pack. I have tried chest packs but I can't quite fit enough into them to feel like I've got everything I will need.

This is a generally well-contructed and roomy bag that can be used both as a fanny pack and a chest pack. It has a wide padded lumbar belt. The bag is quite functional with multiple compartments, two built-in removable zingers, a large fold-down foam fly shelf and dual water bottle holders. It has a tippet dispenser that has limited utility, since the compartment will not zip shut with more than 2-3 tippet spools mounted inside, but you can put in more spools without affixing them to the dispenser. The pack is solid overall, except that the plastic pull tab on one of my pack's water bottle bungees pulled free, apparently because the flimsy tab was cracked at a stress point. I removed both tabs and fashioned a simple cord pull on each bungee that work and look fine. All the other tabs and stress points are considerably more solid than the two I replaced, so I don't anticipate further problems. This bag is about half the price of its Fishpond competitor and has more room to boot. The Fishpond does have some compression straps which might be helpful under some circumstances, but are certainly not necessary in a pack this size.

I was looking for a day pack that would hold two bottles for hiking. This came in a little larger than I had expected (tough to tell size in pictures unless you read the measurements) but I like it better this way. Nice and durable, with a great strap which allows you to sling it over your shoulder for fishing for hiking.

This pack could use a magnetic tray on the large flap.
