I purchased these W.J. wading boots after giving up on the customer service of a number of "big name"brands, when on more than one occasion the felt separated from the boot with less than a couple of seasons use. Although, I have fly fished for nearly 40 years, I had never heard of William Joseph ... Read More

These boots runs small. I ordered by true size (9) and had to return them. They seem like well made boots and are lighter than they look.

I wear a 11.5-12 and purchased a 12 for use with waders and they fit perfectly. Not flat inside but not too much arch support to be annoying, good grip and seem made quite well. They take awhile to dry which is kind of annoying as I typically ride my bike to go fish then have to wait 30 minutes (at least) for them to dry enough to go back in my pack so they don't weight 10lbs and get everything else soaked. But at this price and with good fit and great grip, I'm very happy with them.

Just worked these in for the first time! Very happy with the boots. The river I wade in every year has large rocks and fast water. The felt/rubber sole kept me from slipping and they had plenty of ankle support. Great boot for the price.

these boots were a good deal and are comfortable and easy to get on and off. Size is accurate with wader booties.

I've only used these once and I'm new to this system of boots separate from the waders. But they have been good on there first trip out. They are fairly light and my feet were comfortable after a 10 hour fishing trip. I did , however , have to send back the first ones. Even after reading some of the reviews folks said that the size was to small, but I only went a half of size up and it wasn't enough. I,m a 9 1/2 and a 11 worked out better than a 10.The laces can be tightened to make up for a little play so that's no problem. And the booties in the William Joseph RT wader pants I have are thicker than I expected so you'll probably need some extra room for them and wool socks should you use them. They did great on the slippery rocks and on the bank so I'm really happy with them. I'm very satisfied, I 'll just have to see if the stand the test of time.

    • Answer When I first ordered the size was 14 and that is the size of my old Patagonia boots. The William Joseph W20 was a much larger size in comparison to the Patagonia, and were exchanged for size 13. I wear size 12 in a regular shoe and was advised by friends to go one to two sizes up so you can wear heavy socks and still have good circulation. (circulation is the main factor for me when wading in cold water). The 13 was a better fit in the heel and reduced slip. My feet are narrow to begin with so with any wading boot I will have a lot of wiggle room. To get the proper fit take your waders and socks to a store for sizing. STP has no problem with returns.

    • Answer I purchased this boot and actually went up one size from my normal boot. In the past, I have been to snug in my exact size on several boots and frankly I'm more comfortable in a boot that is a bit larger than one that is too tight! I have used these boots several times and find them very comfortable.

This boot has a very large opening and slides easily over waders!

      Hope this helps

    • Answer I wear a size 9 men's shoe. I bought a size 9 wading boot, I wear simms waders with neoprene stocking feet seems to feel right. So I would stick with a size 8

    • Answer IN MY OPINION, I WOULD OPT FOR THE SIZE NINE WADING SHOES SINCE I BELIEVE YOU NEED ALL THE EXTRA ROOM YOU CAN GET BECAUSE OF THE NEOPRENE BOOTIES, HEAVY SOCKS AND FEET EXPANDING SLIGHTLY AS YOU WEAR THEM FOR HOURS AT A TIME. I PURCHASED THESE SAME BOOTS AND ALTHOUGH I TAKE A SIZE 10 1/2 I ORDERED A 12 AND WAS GLAD I DID.
