Best Uses:
Field biologist, Hiking in wet areas, Warm Climate

Feels true to size

I use these boots on the job as a field biologist. I need waterproof boots at least up to shin level. Rubber boots just don't give the ankle & knee support needed. I hike/bushwack miles a day so need good support and traction, protection against beaver sticks and briars. These boots are great. If i stand submerged under water for a longer period of time , they do leak a little on the top of the instep. I have tried a few different brands of snake proof boots and find these to be the most waterproof. I had to buy a half size larger because that's all that was available so, i just put in 2 insoles & they fit just fine. They are very slippery though on wet rocks. I highly recommend this boot.

Purchased a pair last year for PD shooting in SoDak. Lots of Mr. Buzztail where I walk. The ankle is VERY tight, it is quite a struggle to get your foot down into the bed. Once in there, the foot bed is comfortable, but bring your talcum powder to get your foot in. Don't wear heavy socks or you won't get your foot in. (size 11 purchased for 10.5 foot.)

Although the boots appear to be well made, there is a design flaw, as it is nearly impossible to either put the boots or or take off. I took them to a shoe maker in an attempt to have them stretched, however due to the material used in the construction of the boots stretching was not an option. It was necessary to cut several inches on both sides, at the base, of the tounge in order to get the boots on and off. Maybe I just got a "lemon."

the only complaint i had is i have a high instep and the boot is hard to get on and off due to the stiffness of the neck of the boot. however, if you wear very thin slick socks it goes on and off alot easier. i love the boots other than that and maybe with wear, they will loosen up a bit.
