For odorless socks they come stinky

These socks seem to be made well. They came smelling kind of like motor oil. I thought that was strange since they are advertised as helping to keep odor down. I'm wondering if after washing if they will smell the same. The smell isn't really bad just something I noticed. The socks are pretty thick and they seem to keep my feet warm. I'm happy with the purchase.
