While this product is of obvious quality in construction, with substantial heft, there are a few surprises for me here. One is that the clad bottom has a definite seam where it attaches to the body of the pot. If your have an overflow, (and you will...see my next comment), be prepared to use a wooden toothpick to clean the area of debris when you wash them. The lids boast a four-way choice of large straining holes, small straining holes, a pour hole and a "seal" that ostensibly prevents the preceeding from taking place. The flaw here is there is no real seal between the lid and the pot. One almost feels that one is using the lid to another pot because of the looseness of the seal, so using any of the pouring or straining features will still require juggling protective mitts and holding the lid to the pot while pouring. The difficulty of executing that act as any experienced cook can attest is likely the very thing one had hoped to avoid when one purchases this set.
