This jacket provides good protection from the elements and a bit more style than a "rain coat"

I am a jacket fiend, outdoor enthusiast and love the cold enough to be a polar bear. I currently own at least one jacket from The North Face, Mountain Hardware, Arc'teryx, Patagonia, Spyder, Marmot, Outdoor Research, Cloudveil, Westcomb and Columbia Sportswear. My primary outdoor winter activity is skiing, I live within 45 min of 9 ski resorts. I've spent countless hours using the gear I own. Bottom line, when it comes to jackets I know what I'm talking about. This jacket is an attempt at a technical jacket, with the drawstring waist, pit zips, waterproof material and watertight zippers, and technical cuffs. It's done so bad though. Fit is awful, like nothing I've ever seen before. So much fabric in the underarm area it makes you look like a flying squirrel when arms are stretched out. The zipper didn't work right 4 out of 5 times and ended up puckering out instead of in, negating the water tightness of the zipper. Jackets have either wrist gators (with or without thumb holes) or velcro cuffs. I thought it would be cool to have both like on this jacket but it's just too much. The breathability of this jacket is pretty poor. I feel bad because it seems they tried really hard with this jacket, but it's an epic fail. To Woolrich: leave the performance, technical outerwear jackets to the companies that know what they are doing and stick to casual stuff that you know.
