I always want to have a couple of pairs in reserve. That speaks for itself. The cut has changed over the years minimally from slightly tapered to a very slight boot cut and slightly lower waist, so that there is no dramatic change, and again the pants will remain useful for years to come. They can be worn practically anywhere.

They fit great (size 8 and I'm 140 pounds, 5 feet 8 inches and athletic), though the inseam is shorter, 31.5 not 33 inches, than reported in the details.
