I live in Alaska and work, play, etc. outside. I am going away from fleece and back to wool for tops because the wool regulates cool on warm days, and warm on cool days, better than any of the poly tops I have used in the 30 years of being here.

And frankly, no odor treatment on poly has ever wor... Read More

I am used to Smartwool/Ibex wool pieces and went for the XXL. This fit like a cotton XXXL t-shirt... way too wide, not like what you would normally expect from a merino top. I still liked it and would have swapped for the XL size but couldn't find it on the website. Be prepared to order a size down. The length felt right but not the width.

I use this shirt when I hike in the high mountains. It is a great base layer. It keeps me warm and dry without feeling restricted. Very comfortable.

I wear this as a nice long-sleeve t-shirt. Sometimes on its own, sometimes over other shirts. 38" chest, 5'10", 145 lbs, and the medium is definitely a bit larger than more fitted brands, with longer arms (thankfully), and a bigger chest (not so thankfully) but not so much that it is a size up. I would consider (even) more of a relaxed fit than other brands I have.

I like the wool-poly blend but I don't think the poly gained it much in durability, just a little in breathability (even better than normal wool). It feels on par or maybe slightly heavier than 150 weight merino products in terms of weight, but definitely less than 200 weight merino.

This has been a good shirt on its own in weather where it is too cold for short-sleeves, but too warm for anything heavier, or for layers. It has also been good as an outer layer when it is too cold for only one layer and too warm for two layers (over a thin t-shirt).

This is more itchy than my Icebreaker Superfine (x3) and I/O Bio t-shirts, but less so than technical Icebreaker, Ivanhoe, Valde, and Redram baselayers I have.

Seems to be exactly what I was looking for...a lightweight, merino wool base or mid-layer. Fits well and feels relatively soft--still a little bit of wool itchiness, but not too terrible.

    • Answer I could provide you with actual lengths, it might take a few days, but I could get them for you. We do classify the sleeves as "long" that much I can tell you right now.
