    No, I would not recommend this to a friend
    Despite reading the reviews and description, these pants weren't what I thought they would be. They are very comfortable (esp. with the elastic waist) but are a lot like sweatpants. I thought they would look more like traditional hiking pants. I also agree with all the reviews that there aren't enough features - no pockets or anything. So it depends on what you want. If you want pants like sweatpants, then it's great; if you want hiking pants that look like normal pants, then I'd go with something else, like the ExOfficio pants.

    I plan on wearing these pants around town, and possibly on a trip this fall. I expect them to wear and wash up well. They are long on me (I'm 5'3")and I will have to hem them, but the fit is excellant. A "keeper."
