    This backup spool complements a reel I bought some years ago. Now I keep a lower quality line for practicing in fields on one reel and a high quality line for fishing on the other.

    Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
    I understand Wright and McGill are closing out these reels because Serious Fishermen didn't like the salmon-shaped holes around the periphery. Folks, many days that will be the only fish you see. With the brightly-colored line behind it, you have kind of a little video show as the reel turns! But more importantly, it is a beautifully made and durable reel for about half what it might otherwise cost. I love it.
