I can't understand how someone could call this a "handed" peeler. It's perfectly symmetrical. What feels a little odd is the ergonomics of the grip, which is very old fashioned and promotes a "hacking" rather than "pulling" motion because the blade doesn't rotate like recent ones I have. But it's sharp and the point is better for digging out the potato eyes. Maybe it's a European thing.

I've read the lesser reviews but only have one small issue with this item: Short strokes will leave small peels jamming the blade. If I just remember to only apply longer strokes it works like a charm.

I agree with the reviews that says this is a little tricky to use as a peeler. However, this is the very best tool for seeding peppers!! This makes seeding jalapeno and banana peppers an absolute breeze. Just insert it into the pepper, twist, and the seeds are removed quickly.
