I go running with my dogs on snow-covered trails. For a couple of months I was just using my trail running shoes (or snow boots just after a snow storm)and sliding a fair amount on the trail. From the first time I used them they were great. I immediately noticed how well they gripped the snow and ice. To keep them from wearing out fast I put them on right at the trailhead and take them off when I'm running to and from my house. They're very easy to pop on and off.
