As the Grammie who believes we need to get our children and grandchildren away from the violence of video games-I purchased these for sharing winter hikes with my 10 year old grandson. He is too big/old for the childrens versions-and I was delighted to find this reasonable package set in a size he can use now and for the next couple of years.

these snowshoes are a great value and have everything you need, including poles, to start snowshoeing. After using them several times now, I have learned that the binding seems a bit cheap and they work better on well groomed trails versus more out in the outback.

We received three pairs of these for my kids (9,12 & 14) They all fit their shoes into the bindings and we have boots sized 4 to mens 8. We haven't gotten to use them on the trails yet but we did put them on and walk around the yard after getting over a foot of snow. They worked great! My 110 pound 14 year old did sink in a little (5 inches) in the 2 foot drifts. I can not say enough for these bindings. These are the easiest on and off I have ever seen, especially for kids who do not have patience and want to go. It is simply a tug in one direction to tighten them up and and a tug in the other direction to loosen them. The poles also adjusted for us from very short (youngest is 48" tall) to adult size. We were excited about the price and can't wait for more snow!
    • Best Uses: Snowshoeing
    • Pros: Easy bindings, Poles included, Storage pouch

This is a pre-use rating as there is NO SNOW here in the high Sierras as of January 9, 2012. Unbelievable, really. I got these because my old snowshoes are too long for hiking mountain trails and I kept seeing people with these shorter snowshoes that seemed to have better maneuverability. These look like exactly what I was looking for, and getting the poles and a carry bag with them made this a great deal. Now where's that snow???
