Zamberlan’s tradition of manufacturing quality hiking boots dates to 1929, when Giuseppe Zamberlan founded a company that is still family-owned, with the third generation actively involved in shoe and boot production, testing and sales. The histories of Zamberlan and Vibram® hiking outsoles are interlocked; when Giuseppe Zamberlan and Vitali Bramani jointly developed now-world-famous Vibram® traction rubber outsoles, they appeared on Zamberlan boots. These shoes are really well constructed. Yes, they have remained a bit stiff, but I did not have to break them in; they were comfortable from the first minute I put them on. I bike in the rain; my feet stay dry. I think the stitching, gluing, and construction will last forever. I wear them with my orthotics; I got a half size bigger than usual for this reason. I wear wool socks with them also. I am really happy with them for walking and bicyling.

These things are surprisingly heavy and stiff out of the box. They've taken more breaking in than the last couple pairs of backpacking boots I've owned. After a few miles and a few days, though these shoes are comfortable, decent (if a little odd) looking and water tight. Seem built to last.

Good design, shoes look great and it works very well in the rain. The material is a bit hard there are spots inside the shoes that are not smooth. Will find out whether a bit of wear will do the trick.

always fit size 9 so followed instructions and sized down - but size is still off. And worse yet, the shoe makes your feet look huge.

Overall a great product. The rand is pretty tough, the shoe is comfy for those long hikes and all day backpacking. I think I could have ordered a 6 instead of a 6.5 (my fault not product), but kept my feet comfy and dry in British columbia without blisters or "hot spots". Nice support on downhill too.

They feel good quality and solid. I broke them on a 4 mile hike near Seattle and they were quite comfortable and no hot spots. This week i will be doing the High Divide hike in the Olmpics and that wiull be the test.
