Reviewed by Flyphihsr from PA on Tuesday, November 15, 2016I have quite a few upland jackets and this is one of my favorites. It does have a bit of weight to it but that is due to the quality material. Excellent jacket at a great value. I also bought my wife one and she really likes it too!!
Reviewed by Tweetdrivr from South Dakota on Sunday, October 23, 2016I guide for pheasants in South Dakota and this is one of the best coats I've ever owned. It's wind proof, water resistant, and thistle proof. It's not a warm weather coat, but it's perfect for layering....which is the best way to dress for upland hunting in cooler/cold temps. The coat is roomy but not too heavy which, combined with the toughness, makes it a perfect outer layer. As you hike hard and adjust to the weather you can add or remove layers underneath as needed. And it has front entries for the game pouch - which is a huge plus.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by NML from North Carolina on Friday, October 7, 2016This is a high-quality upland jacket. While I haven't used it yet, you can tell by the material that it will protect from the thorns and brush commonly encountered. I am 6'7" and the length on the XL is perfect, and the sleeves are almost long enough, a problem I am used to.
While this jacket has a great fit through the shoulders, allowing room to move, the lower half is baggy. My concern is that this extra material will catch on brush and branches and allow the elements in. If I were going to use it in cold conditions, this would be a nice feature, but the jacket itself is heavy enough I don't see keeping warm being an issue.
Reviewed by Big Dog from CO on Tuesday, March 29, 2016I don't like giving this jacket three stars but it is not a practical hunting jacket. If they had it as a casual jacket I would buy it. For hunting I can't think of a time I would wear it. It is heavy and not overly warm so I would not choose it in cold weather. For the same reason I would not choose it in warm weather, it is heavy and you would die wearing it. If your upland hunting involves little walking and more sitting in the lodge this may be a good jacket for you, it sure looks good. But for me it just falls in no where land as a practical jacket. Otherwise, it appears to be high quality, I just returned mine as I knew I would never select it over my others.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by earl from Vermont on Tuesday, February 2, 2016The jacket was very high quality with lots of pockets, zippers etc. This also gave it a lot of weight. I couldn't imagine carrying it on some of the long grouse hunts I do so I returned it. It's large game pocket also made it feel very bulky for me. In the end it was not the jacket for me.
