This is a great chair and very comfortable! I wanted to let people know that the instuctions aren't very detailed so one little hint that is helpful is don't tighten all the screws until it is together otherwise the holes won't line up.

This is my second floataway chair. The straps on the lower corners failed on both chairs. The first one lasted >5 years and the last one had 3 seasons of use. Wish they made the anchor points with something which did not abrade and wear out the webbing.
This last time, I was seated in swin when the webbing broke.

    Needs better design!!!!

Love these chairs. Easy to assemble and hang. So comfortable. We bought 2 about 3 years ago and left them outside all the time and now they are showing a lot of wear. I wish we had brought them in for the winter and I think they would have lasted longer.

We just received our chair swing this week and put it up. Our family loves it, so far. We will see how it holds up the the elements.

I like sitting on my chair on the porch. However, it is a narrow fit. Someone not thin probably would not like the feel. I have had two chairs. The first one had one set of ropes break while I was sitting on the chair. I fell to the concrete. Sierra Trading gave me a partial credit and I replaced the chair. This time my husband added extra ropes to be safe. Unfortunately, while sitting on it the other day, down I went again. This time one of the webbing broke releasing half the chair with me in it. It isn't expensive but I don't enjoy having the swing break unexpectedly on me.

  • “Does it come with the stand?”
Asked by Anonymous from Unknown on 8/24/2011 12:00:00 AM
    • No, it does not come with a stand.
Answered on 8/26/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from None
    • No, you have to buy the stand separately. Or, you can hang the chair (with included hardware) to a sturdy ceiling joist in your porch ceiling or overhead deck. When I installed an earlier hanging chair, I crawled up in the attic over our porch, and beefed up the joist by adding two joists next to the one I would use for the chair. I cut the 2x6 joists to the same length as the existing joist and used deck screws to join them to the existing joist. Maybe overkill, but surely safer.
