I recently purchased these Acorn Versa Socks and was surprised that they are made much tighter now. The packaging reads, "New shape for specialized fit" and "Perfect for everyday wear". I am average/thin build, but ankle and calf are very snug. I can't slip them on & off easily as previously--I have to tug them on. But they are very, very warm. The new shape makes them more appropriate for day wear, inside boots, but less ideal for bed wear.

I am very disappointed with the drop in quality that these new socks have experienced. The fit is a lot tighter on the ankle than before and the material used looks of overall worse quality. The worst part is that some of the socks had such bad stitching that the loose threads were already starting to form holes in the socks prior to use. I will have to return these socks as they should not be this poor right out of the box.

Strange sizing!Reviewed by Anonymous from Memphis TN on Friday, August 31, 2018I wear these in bed in the winter and my previous pair (about 8 years old) finally has a hole in the heel. So I bought these as a replacement. I bought size "S", which says it is for women's sizes 8.5 to 9.5. I usually wear only a 7.5, so I was expecting these to be a bit big. However, they are in fact very tight, especially in the "leg" part which makes them difficult to put on. Once on, however, they are actually a bit too long in the foot!! So I would recommend these for ladies with narrow feet. I have wide feet, but I don't have wide ankles. Apart from that, they are nice thick fabric, will keep me warm. I just hope they stretch out a bit in the width!

But, this recent purchase (of two pairs) was disappointing in that the socks have become narrower and longer. So, too long in the foot and not as roomy a fit. After a few wearings, the seam in the heel just split apart and so, after talking to a very helpful customer service representative, I have returned both pairs. How am I going to know now whether I can purchase these in the future, if they alter the size like this?

Easy to slip off from my foot. These pair of socks have seam around the heel so they don't come off while wearing. I put them on while sleeping ( it may not be supposed to make for that though). They are still stay on my feet as they were when I woke up. The size variation is also good. It became my routine to check these socks every winter.
