Serious steal!

This is a high quality, nicely cut wool sweater. I assumed it would be flimsy because it was so cheap, but it's a reasonable thickness. There is a slash in the back (intentional - it's flattering) and a nice neckline. This will be a Fall staple for me!

  • Polished and warm

Nice, soft sweater. It drapes nicely and has a bit of weight to it, which is good because I bought this for layering over blouses in my icebox-of-an-office. Only negative that I've noticed after wearing it just 3-4 times is that the wool has started to pill under the arms. Nothing a quick shave won't fix, but just a bit surprised that the pilling started so soon.

Super soft merino sweater perfect for keeping the chill off without being itchy or bulky.
  • Easy to wear, looks nice but tendency to pill...

In my opinion this sweater falls somewhere between three and four stars. I went with 4 because I think the price makes it a very good deal in spite of a few flaws. This sweater looks lovely in my opinion. It fits well and I like the soft drape and the contrast between the textured sleeves and shawl panel and the smooth body. It fits very well, and I feel that it is true to size. Light but still warm and very comfortable to wear, and I especially like the split back & tailored look. I am happy with the weight and feel of the merino wool, and I don't find it at all irritating. I do typically wear sweaters over a long sleeved top with a high neck so this might not be the case if I tried it with a low backed tank or came however...
After several days of wear (all day--long hours at work, lots of moving around), I have found that it is beginning to pill under the arms. I have some merino sweaters that do this and I find that if I am consistent in checking after each wear and removing them as they accumulate, they aren't much of a problem. On this sweater, the little balls are easy to remove one by one from the textured fabric (where fewer form), but not so much from the smooth wool where they are more extensive and don't pull away easily...I spent a bit of time trying to pick them off and ended up using a sweater stone with some success (much better on the textured part than the smooth). I have a lot of new sweaters so I have ordered a sweater comb (didn't even know there was such a thing) and a Lily brush to help keep them nice. I hope they work on this sweater, also. I purchased both colors, grey (the only one I have worn so far) and berry--both are understated and elegant, and I'm pleased with the look and feel and would probably buy again just because of the excellent price if other colors become available, but from now on I might limit wear to a few hours at a time or just for going out instead of wearing to work.
  • Great value

Ordered two of these; kept the purplish-burgundy-plummy one and returned the charcoal after finding the color too dull. The wool is soft and lustrous, and the collar may be folded over twice, for a narrower profile for the front lapels, or folded back just once, whichever suits. The sweater is not bulky and goes smoothly over tops; the vent at the back is very flattering. Note carefully that this sweater is not full-fashioned, which is not a huge surprise, given its price. It is nonetheless a a great value. Thank you STP!
